Coincidence?

I took this shot a week ago. In retrospect, it goes perfectly with the end of my last post. You can see the metaphor I was going for, but I didn't manage to pull it off well. Looking at the synchronicity of it, I feel compelled to post it along with this quote from Tess on "Touched By An Angel":
"There ARE no coincidences. Coincidences are when God chooses to remain anonymous."

A Closer Look

You have probably seen these countless times....but never looked closely at each one.

We see them together in groups and miss the individual beauty. Yuccas are beautiful together.

Like people, they are more exquisite when seen individually.

New Life & Growth

For 9 or 10 years, we have had a tee-tiny Carolina wren nest in our carport. She nests right above where we sit and hang out...especially during storms. 3 years back, Tom got on a left-brain rampage and labelled everything on the shelves. He had a left-over jug, which he cut in half, & labelled, "handy container". Momma wren agreed and this is the 3rd year she has nested there.

She will come and go regularly, barely noticing us sitting beneath her. She is the tiniest of birds and has the loudest and most melodic of all our song-birds. Truly an amazing metaphor God created.

This year, she had a record-setting 5 babies !!!

The kids have grown & grown and now overflow the little bin....Saturday, it was time for big bro to stick his head out and lead the flock.....

We were so blessed to be out there as they took their first flying lessons. Poor things...trying so hard, but slamming and falling and trying again. I was afraid for them, but could hear momma singing a strong song of encouragement.... They all made it out of the carport to the "Carolina Blue" sky...and safely returned. SUCH a tremendous blessing to witness day 1 of flight training !!!!

Another metaphor in this is to be seen in our lives....Sometimes we start to feel crowded and that it's time for a change... We look out and see a huge drop...it takes faith and a lot of practice. We can spread our wings and head out into new directions, as long as we have our Father-God's blessing and encouragement. THAT takes faith and relationship.

The Clouds Have Cleared

I have been ill and in a fog for weeks...I literally feel like I lost several weeks... I've been sleeping from work to work...through weekends and all. Awful, really. So unlike me to be unmotivated for anything and feeling in a daze. I have written a few letters (in my journal) and even some posts... but never anything to send or post...like I have been viewing the world through a bubble.
Sometime between 3 & 3:30, I felt some energy return...for the first time in weeks. I Picked up London, got some fat, juicy night crawlers and went fishing. After that, we headed out to his last baseball game. It is good to be alive again !!! This picture is how I feel...and it's all GOOD !!!!

Seashells as Metaphor

Both of these compositions are as I found them..."Still-Life by God".
I like the whole notion of shells as metaphors for life, forgiveness, and faith. Collecting shells is seasonal in that, specific shells are more likely to be found at particular times of the year. Spring-time brings a lot of the same shells in different sizes. I think it is awesome that this comes at the time of year when we remember Christ shedding His blood and giving up His body, so that we might have new life in a new, spiritual body.
Tom and I "escaped from D.C." 11 years ago and have certainly put on new "shells". We are now homeowners, lake / forest dwellers; grandparents, "older parents" of a young boy, dog and rabbit owners, have a pool.....you get the idea. We have lost friends and family through death and circumstance, and gained new ones as well. There have been even more dramatic changes in our inner selves.
